This is a class for those who truly LOVE the land and its trees, water, and sky. There are no patterns because Nature isn’t as simple as a pattern. She LOVES variations and imperfections! In this class students will learn my “rough cut” technique to chew out tree trunks and leaves and grassy hills. We’ll learn aerial perspective and the 4 principles of composition that will make your landscape shine. If you listen well, when you leave class, you’ll be able to create any landscape that you can dream up, I promise!

Trinity Lutheran Church
Set up 8:30 start 9am. Finish 3
Lunch is potluck, but if you prefer your own sack lunch, please do so.
Presently Sandra is teaching and lecturing her technique, “Material Matrix” which involves interpreting a gridded photograph with fabric. This process is different than other gridded photograph methods in that it involves piecing and a loose, representational style inspired by the painter, Chuck Close.
The 6-hour class is about technique and all students work on the same image “Sew Ready” see below to gain skills in this method. She is a hands-on teacher and works closely with students to gain “the eye” for this process. Sandra will do a lecture for our guild the night before that showcases her work, her background, and the road that led her to this technique.
